The future of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is still unresolved.
The Ghanaian international is set to become a free agent when his current contract expires on July 1st, and, although the Gunners have been in talks about extending it, there has been no agreement, and the clock is now ticking.
And even the player himself is unsure about his future. Whilst admitting that he is happy in North London, he also states that there are family considerations involved.
With the signing of Martin Zubímendi expected to be confirmed in the next few weeks Partey may have to be content with a squad place next season at the Emirates, but with Jorginho having already departed for Flamengo, Arsenal are light in midfield options as it is, and may need to go into the market if Partey does leave.
It emphasises again that whilst incoming transfers at Arsenal are the main headline-grabbers, contract renewals are also an important part of the job for Sporting Director, Andrea Berta.
