Newly relegated Ipswich Town are interested in taking Chelsea striker Marc Guiu on loan next season.
The 19-year old Spaniard scored six goals in 14 appearances for the club last season, primarily in the Europa Conference League, but missed most of 2025 having picked up a muscular injury. However, he recovered in time to make a late cameo off the bench in their final success over Spanish club Real Betis.
It is recognised that his chances of first-team football next season might be limited, and that a loan move might be the best option for his continued development. Ipswich will be expected to feature among the front-runners in the Championship next season because of the parachute payments.
In effect, this amounts to a job swap, with Liam Delap moving the other way. Chelsea have already indicated that they intend to trigger the release clause for the former Manchester City player.
Guiu is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, after signing from Barcelona last summer.
