Aston Villa want to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea as they look to boost their defensive options.
Disasi moved to Stamford Bridge from Monaco in the summer of 2023, but he has struggled to establish himself in West London, and he is willing to move for more first-team minutes.
Despite that he has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, and has scored two goals and provided two assists. An intelligent reader of the game and good in the tackle, though, he is becoming fed-up with his role as benchwarmer under Enzo Maresca and believes that he needs a fresh start if he wishes to continue evolving in his career.
Villa are currently suffering a defensive injury crisis, and lost Tyrone Mings in their match against West Ham at the weekend, with full-back Lucas Digne pressed into emergency service as a centre-half for that match.
It has been reported that the player has agreed personal terms with Villa so it is now up to Chelsea to decide if they are willing to let him leave.
