Arsenal have seen a bid to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahović turned down by the Italian club.

The Gunners wanted to sign the Serbian on loan, but the Turin side want to sell him outright, or at least for any deal to include an obligation to buy. They, in turn, are hoping to land Randal Kolo Muani from PSG, but are prepared to wait until later in the window to see if any fresh bids are received for Vlahović.

Although Mikel Arteta is a fan of the 24-year old, it is thought that the club’s main striking target is Benjamin Seško of RB Leipzig, who is not available until the summer.

However, Arteta and the rest of the club hierarchy face a dilemma. Having seen their participation in two cup competitions ended in the past week because of the lack of a player who can put the ball in the net, not to move for anybody in the current window could be regarded by some fans as a dereliction of duty.
