Chelsea are close to agreeing a new contract for highly rated full-back Josh Acheampong.
He only signed his latest contract at the start of this year, but with reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea were keen to tie his immediate future down.
He made his debut for the senior side in May, coming on as a late substitute in the Premier League win over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, and prior to this week had made one appearance for the club, and that was in the EFL Cup against Barrow.
However, with his manager Enzo Maresca singing his praises, he rewarded him with a start in the Europa Conference League against Kazakh side Astana.
Once he has signed his new contract, he could be sent on loan, so that he gets regular experience of playing senior football somewhere.
