Several Arsenal executives, including Tim Lewis, executive vice-chair, and Richard Garlick, managing director, are flying to the US to meet with the Kroenke family during the international break.

It is not clear if Mikel Arteta is also joining the party.

Whilst discussions on who might replace the departed Edu as Sporting Director will take place, the main issue on the agenda will be Arsenal’s transfer strategy for the forthcoming transfer window.

There have been several areas identified where the team need strengthening, which includes central striker, and a new left-winger to compete with Gabriel Martinelli.

The team’s struggles whilst Martin Ødegaard was injured should also have been noted, and indicated that there are a lack of other creative options in midfield.

Goalkeeper might also be another position where another quality reinforcement is needed. Neto has joined the club on loan, but he is yet to play for the club, and is ineligible for the League Cup because he is cup-tied.
