Despite intense speculation linking French defender William Saliba with a move to Real Madrid next summer, Arsenal are confident of the 23 year old staying with the club.
And they have been boosted by reports that the player himself does not want to leave the Emirates.
Real, according to the Spanish press, have made Saliba their number one transfer target for next summer, as they look to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive options and, what they want, they usually get.
But the Gunners are under no pressure to sell a player who signed a lucrative four year contract with them in 2023, which is believed to include the option of another year.
And they also have aspirations to start being included in the same conversation as Real when it comes to the biggest clubs in Europe, and have no desire to see one of their best players leave to join one of their main rivals.
