Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri is set to be handed a long-term deal by the club when he turns 18 next March.

When he came on against Brentford two years ago, he became the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League at the age of just 15 years and 181 days old.

Now part of the first-team squad, last month Nwaneri became the youngest player to score two goals for the club in his full debut in the League Cup against Bolton Wanderers.

As an indication of how highly he is rated by the Gunners, club captain Martin Martin Ødegaard  has been assigned a mentoring role helping oversee his development and adaption  to a first-team role.

Nwaneri joined the club aged just nine years old, and has quickly acquired a reputation for his ability on the ball, and passing ability.

Currently his age means that he cannot sign any contract later than two years, but that can be rectified as soon as he reaches his 18th birthday.
