Although Chelsea’s recent results indicate a corner may have been turned, there is still a sense that they lack a natural leader at the back, especially since the departure of Thiago Silva.
And now there may be suggestions they are prepared to rectify the problem by recruiting German defender Jonathn Tah, who was part of the Bayer Leverkusen side that won the league and cup double last season.
Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the German international, who at 28 years old, offers the experience that could help guide what is otherwise a young team.
Leverkusen are well aware of Tah’s quality and would love to keep him, but he is out of contract at the end of the season and knows that he can earn more at other more established clubs, and, that, as a free agent, he would also be entitled to a hefty signing-on fee as well.
