Chelsea could still make a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
They were in discussions with the Nigerian forward during the transfer window but ultimately could not agree personal terms with him, and, instead on transfer deadline day, he moved to the Turkish side Galatasaray on a season long loan.
However, there a break clause has been inserted in the contract with the Turkish club, which would allow another side to make a formal approach to buy him in January should they make an offer which matches Napoli’s valuation of him.
Osimhen really cemented his reputation as one of the best strikers in Europe in the 2022 – 23 season when he scored 31 goals in 39 appearances and helped them win the Serie A title.
The last campaign for him and his side did not match those giddy heights, but he still found the net 17 times in the blue of Napoli.
