Arsenal are set to offer Belgian forward Leandro Trossard a new deal.
Signed from Brighton in January 2023, Trossard has gone on to make 71 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists.
That is despite having to regularly compete with Gabriel Martinelli for first-team minutes on the left wing, and the recent arrival of Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea.
Recently Al-Ittihad made an approach for him on Saudi Pro League transfer deadline day, offering an initial ₤3.5 million loan fee, with an obligation to buy next summer of ₤22 million.
That was rejected out of hand by the Gunners and now, to fend off further interest in him, they want to tie Trossard, who is widely regarded as the best finisher at the club, down to a new deal at the Emirates.
He is already under contract to 2026, but now his stay in North London is expected to be extended.
