Nketiah fate uncertain

The fate of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah remains uncertain after a proposed move to Marseille fell through.

He was set to join the Ligue 1 side on a season long loan, which included an obligation to buy.

However, Marseille then pulled out of the deal and turned their attention to Lens forward Elye Wahi instead.

Nketiah was then briefly linked with Bournemouth, but they have since announced they are going to buy Porto striker Evanilson for a club record fee.

That leaves Nketiah in an invidious position although there is common agreement that he now needs to leave the Emirates before the window closes in order to get first-team football.

Whilst the Gunners would prefer an outright sale, a loan is looking the more likely option at this stage, with Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest among his possible destinations.

Whilst he could remain with Arsenal he would be guaranteed minimal game time under Miel Arteta.
