Arsenal have solidified their interest in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Seško, and have now submitted a formal bid for the player.
However, the German club are likely to reject it because it is short of their ₤55 million valuation fo the player.
That is unlikely to deter the Gunners, who are aiming to tie up a move for the Slovenian international before the end of June, when his current release clause expires.
Leipzig are still hoping to tie Seško down to a new deal, but indications are that he favours a move to the Emirates.
Having just turned 21, he is by no means the finished article, and there are still aspects of his game that need to be developed.
However, he offers a physicality and change of pace that both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus lacked when leading the line last season, and it is hoped that there is further room for improvement under the coaching of Mikel Arteta and his team.
