Hertha Berlin want to tempt Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno back to Germany.
The club finished the season by clinching their top flight Bundesliga status for another year by beating Hamburg in a relegation play-off, and now they are looking to strengthen their squad to try and avoid a repeat next season.
German international Leno looks certain to leave the Emirates this summer, having lost his first-team place to Aaron Ramsdale and with USA international Matt Turner shortly to arrive at the club.
The problem faced by the Gunners, as with all Premier League clubs, is that salaries in England are higher than at continental clubs, so, if Leno does want to move to Berlin, he will have to take a pay cut.
And it also means that the North London side will not be able to recoup much of the £19 million that they paid Bayer Leverkusen for the player four years ago.
