Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure for his job at Old Trafford.
Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal was their third home defeat of the season so far – all to London clubs – and now questions are being asked if he is really the right man for the job there.
The defeat leaves his side 15th in the table, although they do have a game in hand over some of their rivals.
And with Mauricio Pochettino watching the game for one of the satellite broadcasters, speculation is mounting that he is being lined-up as a ready-made replacement.
United had gone into the game confident after their recent wins over PSG and RB Leipzig, but they were lacklustre on the day against a side that dominated them almost from start to finish. It was Arsenal’s first win at United since 2006, and their first League away win at another member of the so-called Big Six for more than five years.
Roy Keane, never a man to pull his punches accused United of a “lack of energy, …. No quality. No composure”.
We kept talking after the Spurs game and whether they turned a corner (after that game). It’s the longest corner ever.’
