Chelsea staff in disagreement over Sarri replacement

There is a rift developing amongst Chelsea staff about who should replace Maurizio Sarri as manager.

After months of speculation, it now appears virtually certain that Sarri’s departure will be announced soon, with the 60 year old Italian set to return to his homeland to take up the vacant position at Juventus.

However, there is now a disagreement between the playing and the coaching staff, and the club’s Board of Directors as to who should be the next man in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.

The players and coaching staff want former player Frank Lampard to take over. Already a club legend after making nearly 650 appearances for the team, 40 year old Lampard impressed in his first season in management, taking Derby County to the play-off finals.

However, the club hierarchy would prefer somebody with more experience to take the job, such as Max Allegri, who has just vacated the job that Sarri is about to take.
