Leicester set to sign Algerian winger from Monaco

Leicester City may have lost one Algerian international winger this summer in the shape of Riyad Mahrez, who has departed for Manchester City, but they look likely to replace him with another in the shape of Rachid Ghezzal.

That is according to L’Équipe who reports that the 26 year old is set to join the Foxes on a four year deal for a fee worth €14 million (£12 million).

A graduate of the Lyon academy, Ghezzal broke into the first team with his home town club and made 119 appearances for them in all competitions, before moving to Monaco a year ago on a four-year contract, which will now be terminated with the move to Leicester.

Although he was born in France, Ghezzal is entitled to play for Algeria because of his family background and has since gone on to play thirteen times for his adopted country, scoring once against Ethiopia in March 2016.
