West Ham are set to sign Swansea City goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski in a £7 million deal, with the move expected to be finalised in the next few days.
That is according to The Evening Standard who report that the 33-year old is expected to sign a 3-year deal shortly. Fabianski, who is with Poland World Cup squad in Russia confirmed that the deal is likely to happen, telling Polish paper Przeglad Sportowy “I won’t be lying – something is going to happen”. The ex-Arsenal player also said “If I leave Swansea, I will regret that it will happen after relegation to the Championship. I spent a lovely there, they helped me in tough moment, when I didn’t play in Arsenal. I will have memories for rest of my life from Swansea.”
West Ham are in need of a regular first-choice goalkeeper, with Joe Hart back at Manchester City after a largely unsuccessful loan spell in East London, and Adrian, uncertain of his future under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The 64-year old Chilean has been given a transfer budget of £75 million by the West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold, and now it looks as if the first part of that will be spent on Fabianski.
