Spurs preparing cut-price offer for Jack Grealish

Tottenham are ready to take advantage of Aston Villa’s financial woes by preparing a bid for their star midfielder Jack Grealish considerably below his estimated market value.

Villa are losing close to £6 million a week, having spent big on transfers in an unsuccessful bid to win promotion back to the Premier League. Last month the club missed a tax payment to HMRC, in the wake of which CEO Keith Wyness was suspended and later sacked, with rumours that the club faced a winding-up order or could go into administration.

Whilst that has been denied by owner Dr. Tony Xia, the club almost certainly needs to raise money from the sale of players, and Grealish is regarded as one of their prize assets.

However, although Villa value the player at £40 million, The Daily Mirror reports that Spurs opening bid is only in the region of £15 million, with the London club hoping to take advantage of Villa’s desperate need for cash.

Grealish is currently on holiday and reportedly unaware of developments.
