Tickets for final Arsene Wenger home match being sold for £1,800

The Evening Standard reports that tickets for Arsene Wenger’s home match against Burnley are changing hands for as much as £1,800 each, as fans compete to see the Frenchman bid farewell to The Emirates.

This weekend’s match against Burnley will see Wenger oversee a home fixture for the last time, a mere 7,870 days after he took his initial seat in the Highbury dug-out on October 19, 1996.

Normally, tickets for such a clash, which is categorised as a Category C fixture by Arsenal, the lowest of their pricing tiers, would cost between £26 and £38.50. However, such is the demand amongst those supporters without a ticket to see the match, that secondary ticketing agencies are offering seats up to £1,800.

It follows similar demand when Sir Alex Ferguson took charge of Manchester United at Old Trafford for the last time, with seats for the match against Swansea changing hands for nearly £3,000 a ticket.
