Former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs has confirmed that he is interested in taking the position of Wales manager, which has been vacant since Chris Coleman left to take up a similar role at Sunderland. Telling Sky Sports “of course I am interested” in the job.

Giggs who made 64 appearances for Wales as a player has been linked with a host of roles since he left his position as assistant to Louis van Gaal at United in 2016. However, he has failed to land any of these roles and will be hoping this time around that his application will be looked on more favourably by the Welsh FA.

The 44-year old is, of course, a club legend at United for whom he made 672 appearances in a 14 year old career, and is the most decorated player in Premier League history, with 13 Premier League, 4 FA Cups, 2 Champions League and 3 League Cup titles to his name.
