Chelsea are ready to battle Leeds United to sign Nottingham Forest James McAtee.
He only moved to the City Ground in the summer after Forest spent almost ₤30 million to sign the Manchester City graduate. But although he is rated highly, the 23-year old has failed to have the desired impact so far, and the lack of continuity, has not helped him settle either.
He has already worked under three different managers in his time at City, and the latest. Sean Dyche, does not appear to favour him.
That has alerted other clubs to his potential availability, with Chelsea one team that might throw their hat in the ring. Although they are already well-stacked in midfield, they are always open for opportunities in the market.
And it helps that Enzo Maresca already knows the player well, from the time when they were both at City together.
