Chelsea eye 21-year-old Ligue 1 striker

Chelsea’s weekend couldn’t have gone much better. A convincing 3–0 victory over Nottingham Forest lifted them into fifth place in the Premier League and reminded fans of the attacking intent Enzo Maresca has been trying to instill.

Goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto, and captain Reece James sealed the win at The City Ground — a result that proved costly for Forest boss Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed shortly after the final whistle.

With Maresca serving a touchline suspension, assistant and former goalkeeper Willy Caballero took charge on the sidelines, guiding the Blues through a dominant display that showcased both composure and ruthlessness.

But while Chelsea celebrate their momentum on the pitch, the club’s recruitment team appears to be at work behind the scenes — and their next target might already belong to their extended football family.

Panichelli: The Argentine Prodigy Turning Heads in France

Reports from Fichajes (via CaughtOffside) claim that Chelsea are closely monitoring Joaquin Panichelli, Strasbourg’s breakout striker who has made an electric start to life in Ligue 1.

The 21-year-old Argentine joined Strasbourg from Spanish side Alavés last summer and has since scored seven goals in just eight league matches.

His quick adaptation and sharp finishing have reportedly caught Chelsea’s attention — not least because both clubs fall under the BlueCo ownership group, which has already enabled a smooth player-sharing relationship.

Panichelli’s contract with Strasbourg runs until 2030, but Chelsea could look to accelerate a deal next summer, following the same route that has seen talents like Kendry Páez and Mike Penders spend developmental spells in France.

Building for the Future

Maresca’s side may have bolstered their attack recently with the signings of Liam Delap and João Pedro, yet the club continues to scout for emerging forwards capable of defining the next generation at Stamford Bridge.

If Panichelli’s current trajectory continues, the Argentine could soon find himself among those BlueCo talents making the leap from Strasbourg to West London — a move that would fit Chelsea’s long-term vision of blending youth potential with strategic squad depth.

For now, Chelsea’s focus shifts to Wednesday night’s clash against Ajax, but eyes in the boardroom are clearly fixed on the next big name in Europe — and Joaquin Panichelli might just be it.
