Trio remain at Chelsea after deadline day

Although Chelsea did a good job of getting rid of their bomb squad, they were not entirely successful and three players remain on their books that no longer seem to have a future at the club.

Raheem Sterling is the highest paid player at the club, but a less than inspiring loan spell at Arsenal next season has done little for his stock. Preferring to stay in London, he rebuffed interest from Saudi Arabia, but with no takers and two years left on his deal, he could just wither away in the reserves now.

Meanwhile Tyrique George had been linked with Roma and then thought he was heading to Fulham, until their West London rivals had a change of heart, and signed Shakhtar winger Kevin stead.

And then there is Axel Disasi who had hoped to return to Monaco, only for Chelseana to reach their limit when it comes to international loan spots.

All three will now stay on Chelsea’s books, at least until January.
