Arsenal have completed the signing of Danish midfielder Christian Nørgaard from Brentford.
They have agreed a basic fee of ₤10 million for the 31 year old, with up to ₤2 million in add-ons and bonuses. He has successfully passed his medical, and having agreed personal terms, an announcement by the club will be made in the next few days.
That follows an admission by Brentford that he was on the verge of making the switch from West to North London.
It is widely recognised as a shrewd piece of business by the Gunners, bringing in a player with plenty of Premier League experience and for a reasonable fee.
And, whilst the search for the elusive striker continues, they are adding strength in depth to other positions in their squad. Nørgaard will be the third signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Kepa from Chelsea and Martin Zubímendi from Real Sociedad.
