Chelsea are one of the clubs willing to bid for Newcastle centre-forward Alexander Isak.
He is currently locked in talks about a contract extension at St. James Park, which Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has described as complex, giving hope to other clubs that the North-East side will listen to offers for the Swedish international.
Arsenal are also being linked with a move for Isak, but now the Chelsea board have green lit an approach for him next summer, and are prepared to pay up to ₤83 million.
Although Nicolas Jackson has excelled in the centre-forward role this season, Isak is considered to be of a different calibre altogether and one who could fulfil Enzo Maresca’s recent boost that Chelsea could dominate England football in the coming years.
