Arsenal are interested in signing Argentine midfielder Nico Paz.
The 20 year old, who is a former Real Madrid youth player, is currently playing for newly promoted Como in Serie A, who are managed by former Arsenal and Chelsea favourite Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas’ influence is evident in Paz’s style of play – he is displaying great vision and ball control, and possesses a maturity beyond his years.
It is believed that Arsenal have been scouting him extensively, and believe that he a profile that suits the dynamic and high pressing style that they like to play under Mikel Arteta.
There is no coincidence also that Paz is a creative player of a type that the Gunners have lacked whilst their captain Martin Ødegaard has been injured.
The Norwegian is approaching full fitness again, but his absence illustrated the danger of having a single point of failure in their squad, and the need for credible back-up to him.
