Arsenal are considering making a bid for Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo.

The Cameroon international has scored eight goals in nine games this season, and has stepped-up for the Bees now that Ivan Toney has left the club.

Mbuemo has caught the attention of the Arsenal recruitment department because of his versatility – he cam play either as a winger or can be deployed behind a centre-forward.

And with their recent spate of injuries raising concerns about the strength in depth of Mikel Arteta’a squad, they are ready to turn to the transfer market to plug some of the gaps, and Mbuemo could offer an alternative to what they already have at the club.

He is under contract at the West London club until 2026, and they have the option of another year should they choose to exercise it.

Brentford are unlikely to contemplate selling him in January, but could be open to a bid at the end o the season.
