Arsenal full-back Brooke Noerton-Cuffy is set to join Serie A side Genoa in a permanent move.
An academy graduate, who has been capped by England at every age group up to under-21 level, Norton-Cuffy has gained a lot of experience outside the Premier League, enjoying loan spells in League One with Lincoln City and Rotherham, and in the Championship with Coventry City and Millwall.
However, he has never been within touching distance of making the first-team squad, with the likes of Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu (when fit) all ahead of him when it comes to the right back spot.
And whilst young talent like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lweis-Skelly have featured in pre-season for the Gunners, Norton-Cuffy has been persistently overlooked.
Now it seems an opportune time to kick-start his career in another country, with Arsenal set to earn around ₤1.8 million plus add-ons from the deal.
