Crystal Palace are considering a move for out of favour Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The academy graduate’s career as a Chelsea player appears to be over after he was omitted from their pre-season tour of the USA.
Palace meanwhile, are potentially seeking a replacement for England international Marc Guehi who is being heavily linked with a move to the North-East and Newcastle United.
For Chalobah, joining Palace enables him to stay in London.
Once tipped to have a bright future when he was introduced to the first-team by Thomas Tuchel, he has since dropped down the pecking order under his various successors, and injuries have also hampered his progress.
He remains under contract at Chelsea until 2028, and there is an option for a further year in his deal.
However, whilst in normal circumstances Chelsea could demand a decent fee for him, there could be a desire to accept what they can get in order to get his wages off their books.
