West Ham and Leicester City are both competing to sign Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

At the start of the window, it was the East London club who were heavily linked with his signature, but then Leicester City moved ahead of them, with discussions of a loan-to-buy move. Nelson was reported to be open to that switch because it gave him the chance to work yet again under Leicester’s new manager Steve Cooper, who he knows from his days in the England youth set-up.

Despite that, it seems that West Ham are not willing to give up their pursuit of the player, and they have now signalled their intent by making a ₤15 million bid for him.

They believe that he can add some versatility to their attacking options.

Nelson is currently on Arsenal’s season tour in the US, and there is little likelihood of anything being decided until they return to London.
