Arsenal have rejected a bid from Fulham to sign Emile Smith-Rowe for ₤30 million plus bonuses.

The West London club are now considering whether to make a revised offer.

Fulham, who are flush with the cash from having sold João Palhinho to Bayern Munich have made it clear that they consider the England international one of their top transfer targets for this summer.

He is also being considered by Crystal Palace, although he is just one of the options they are considering.

Smith-Rowe is under contract until 2026 at the Emirates, but has seen his playing time limited in the past 18 months following a series of injuries. It now appears that, if he wants regular first-team football, he may have to leave the Emirates.

The 23 year old was one of the players involved in the pre-season training camp in Marbella that Mikel Arteta organised for those members of his squad not involved in one of the summer’s two major tournaments.

However, despite being a fan favourite, he now appears surplus to requirements.
