Chelsea have enquired about signing midfielder Kieran Desbury-Hall, who played under new manager Enzo Maresca at Leicester City.

Although no formal offer has been made, the prospect of reuniting with Maresca is thought to appeal to the 25 year old, whilst his style is thought to be ideal to how Chelsea want to play next season under their new boss.

He made 49 appearances for his boyhood club, and scored 12 goals as they won promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt going up as champions.

It has transpired that Chelsea’s intervention may have scuppered a swap deal which involved Brighton and Leicester, with Jakub Moder going the other way in exchange for Dewsbury-Hall.

It had got as far as medicals being scheduled, but everything has now been put on hold, whilst the current situation resolves itself.

Dewsbury-Hall is a product of the Leicester academy system and joined the club at the age of eight.
