Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu has confirmed that the club is busy making preparations for what will be another active summer for the club in terms of recruitment.
And whilst he refused to be drawn on the clamour for the Gunners to sign a top striker, he has provided an update on the type of player that the club are targeting, and who are on their internal shortlist.
And, perhaps referencing some of the mistakes made in the past, Edu said that a lot of weight is being attached to the character of potential recruits, and not only do they need to have skill and talent, but also a commitment to the club.
They also need to be young, energetic and passionate, the type of players that can form an emotional attachment with the supporters.
Naturally he also confirmed that the long-term strategy of the club is to get better every year.
