Chelsea are about to add further to their summer signings by agreeing a deal for Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, who is currently playing for MLS side New England Revolution.

He is expected to move for a fee of £14 million and will provide back-up and competition for another of their new arrivals Robert Sanchez.

Having allowed Kepa Arrizabalaga to join Real Madrid on loan, and also another American export, Gaga Slonina to move to Belgian side, Eupen, also on loan, Chelsea find themselves short in the goalkeeping department, especially as Marco Bettinelli is currently injured.

23 year old Petrović joined the Revolution last season, signed as a replacement for another goalkeeper who made the move to the Premier League, Matt Turner, now with Nottingham Forest, having initially joined Arsenal.

Earlier this year he was voted into the MLS All Star team of the season.

He made his full international debut for the Serbian national team in a friendly two years ago.
