Chelsea are considering signing Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha if Kepa Arrizabalaga leaves Stamford Bridge this summer.
Kepa, still the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, who has been linked with a move to Lazio and a reunion with former boss Mauricio Sarri, has become unhappy in West London after losing his first-team place to Édouard Mendy. Chelsea are prepared to allow him to leave if they can find a suitable replacement.
Strakosha, who is an Albanian international, made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side helping them to a fifth placed finish in the table.
Any move for Strakosha is separate though to the deal that is being pushed through for teenage keeper Gabriel Slonina. The 18-year old is regarded as one for the future, and he will continue on loan with his current club, MLS side Chicago Fire, as part of his development.
