Thomas Tuchel is set to receive assurances from the club’s new owners that his job at Chelsea is safe.
In fact, the status quo at the West London club is expected to be maintained, with Bruce Buck expected to continue as Chairman following the takeover, whilst Marina Granovskaia will maintain her role as a director of the club.
Her continuation is especially relevant given her role with transfers and contract negotiations, and means that Chelsea will be able to focus once more on their summer business once the takeover is formally approved.
Granovskaia is closely linked with Roman Abramovich, and there had been speculating she would leave London to work with the oligarchs on one of his new ventures, but, instead, she and Buck will sit on the newly constituted Board, alongside journalist Daniel Finkenstein and PR executive Barbara Charone, who will have non-executive roles.
The UK government is now expected to approve the takeover by the end of the month.
