Juventus striker Alvaro Morata was close to a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Chelsea player was being lined-up by the Gunners as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the player himself was reported to be keen on a move to North London.
In the end, though, having made the decision to allow Swedish winger Dejan Kulovsevski on a long-term loan to Tottenham, Juventus decided to keep him as cover.
Morata is currently on loan in Turin from Atlético Madrid, and the Serie A club have an option to buy him, but will only proceed if they can renegotiate his current option price which is £29 million.
Morata spent three seasons as a Chelsea player, but he struggled to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge and was eventually loaned out to Atlético until the move was then made permanent.
