Chelsea are willing to sell goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.
He was the world’s most expensive keeper when he joined the club from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018, but has struggled for consistency in West London, and is number two now at Stamford Bridge to Édouard Mendy.
Although he played in the World Club semi-final against Saudi side Al-Hilal on Wednesday, Mendy, who is back from his heroics with Senegal at AFCON, is expected to come back in for Sunday’s final against Palmeiras of Brazil.
Even though Kepa Is highly rated at Stamford Bridge, the club also appreciate that, at his age – he is now 27 years old – he wants to be playing regular first-team football and they will not stand in his way if the right offer is received.
Kepa still has aspirations of forcing his way into the Spain squad for the Qatar World Cup later this year and a move should help bolster his chances.
