Sterling plans clear the air talks with City

Raheem Sterling and Manchester City are scheduled to have clear the air talks after the Euros are over to discuss his uncertain future.

The England international, who scored for England against Croatia at Wembley on Saturday, lost his place last season in Pep Guardiola’s side, and has been linked with a move away this summer.

He is now in the fianl two years of his contract, and City are amenable to the idea of offering him an extension on hs current deal, and wages of £300,000 a week.

They do not want him to run down his contract and leave for free, given his considerable value on the open market.

Sterling, though, will be looking for guarantees about playing time next season and beyond, and, if no new deal can be agreed, then City might consider selling him, with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid waiting in the wings.
