Arsenal want to make Ryan move permanent

Arsenal are in advanced talks to convert Mat Ryan’s loan into a permanent move.

The Australian goalkeeper joined the Gunners on loan until the end of the season in January from Brighton, and the North London club have been impressed by what they have seen of the 219-year old.

Although he has largely been back-up to first choice Bernd Leno, he has started two Premier League games and played well, conceding two gaols, neither of them down to him. And he showed the other side of his game last Sunday against Fulham, going up for alate corner and flicking the ball on with his header in the move that eventually leading to the Arsenal equaliser.

Ryan is a boyhood Arsenal fan and is reported to be happy with the proposed arrangement,

He is also likely to ne  a cheap option. Brighton quoted a transfer fee of £10 million for him in January, but he will have six months less left on his contract at the end of the season so that price tag will have come down.
