West Ham United want to sign Jesse Lingard permanently in the summer.
But they fear that they may be priced out of a move for the England midfielder, as Manchester United have increased his value due to his sensational form with the East London club, with reports suggesting they may want up to £30 million for him.
That is despite the former academy graduate being about to enter the last 12 months of his current contract at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old has seen his fortunes revived after his move to London, with his strike against Wolves on Monday being his sixth goal in 8 Premier League starts for West Ham, who have now climbed above Chelsea into the Champions League places.
In addition, he has provided three assists, and has earned himself a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad into the bargain. He is now tipped to make the squad for this summer’s Euros.
