Chelsea to allow defensive due to leave on loan

Both Antonio Rudiger and Fikayo Tomori are set to be allowed to leave Chelsea on loan in January.

The pair have both fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge this season, with Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma established as the first-choice defensive pairing for Frank Lampard.

And with Lampard looking to trim the size of his playing squad in the New Year, that is an ideal opportunity to give them the chance to play regular first-team football elsewhere.

Both have previously been linked with moves away from the club. Tomori had agreed a deal to join Fulham on transfer deadline day only to have a last-minute change of mind and back out of it.

Rudiger, meanwhile, is among the transfer targets for Barcelona. The German has also been linked with a move to Tottenham but it is doubtful whether Chelsea would allow him to join a direct tile rival.
