Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart is set to join Spurs on a short-term deal.
The 33 year old is a free agent after leaving Burnley when his contract expired, but, subject to passing a medical, will move to Tottenham, where he will compete with Paulo Gazzaniga for the role of understudy to number one, and club captain, Hugo Lloris.
Hart’s career has taken a marked downturn after Pep Guardiola unceremoniously moved him on when he became Manchester City manager.
He had largely unsuccessful loan spells with Torino and West Ham, before joining Burnley on a two-year deal. In his first season at Turf Moor he played 19 times in all competitions for Sean Dyche’s men, but last season, he was confined to a role on the bench behind Nick Pope and played just three times for the Clarets.
With Spurs involved in a lot of football next season, including potentially having to play three rounds of Europa League qualifiers, he will be hoping for his fair share of game time under Jose Mourinho.
