Revised Timo Werner release clause revealed

firmino better than salah

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer, as the Anfield club look to supplement their forward line of Mo Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino.

It is believed that the Teds are prepared to meet his release clause at the end of the season, with the player himself dropping heavy hints are openly expressing his admiration for the Premier League champions in waiting after scoring the winning goal for his club in the first leg of their Champions League tie against Spurs last week.

And now it transpires that he may not cost the Champions League winners as much as first thought. Originally thought to be €58 million (£50 million), it now transpires that Werner’s release clause is only €30 million (£25 million) plus performance related bonuses.

Werner is under contract at Leipzig until 2023.
