Smalling wants permanent Roma transfer

Chris Smalling, on loan at Roma from Manchester United at Roma, wants to make the move to the Italian side into a permanent move.

The 30 year old moved to the Italian capital at the start of the season and has made a big impression at his new club, even wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions, Now they are keen to retain his services on a full-time basis.

United are yet to reach an agreement with the Serie A side but, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof firmly established at the heart of the defence at Old Trafford, it is hard to see how Smalling has a future with the club he joined from Fulham in 2010.

A fee of £13 million has been mooted, and Roma will be keen to get a deal for the Londoner tied up as soon as possible, as he is also being eyed by Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan.
