Kepa fined one week’s wages for insubordination

The repercussions of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’x extraordinary act of insubordination at Wembley on Sunday continue to be felt.

The 24-year old blatantly refused an instruction from his manager Maurizio Sarri to be substituted for Willy Caballero and, in front of the watching millions, stayed on the pitch whilst his manager raged on the side line.

Reports have since emerged that Sarri went berserk at Kepa in the changing room after the match, and the Spaniard has since been fined a week’s wages, and issued an apology for his actions.

However, for many Chelsea fans that is not enough, with many of them taking to social media in the aftermath of the incident to demand that Kepa never play for the club again, and that he should be placed on the transfer list immediately.

It will be interesting to see what reaction both player and manager receive when they appear in front of their home fans for Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Tottenham.
