Celtic captain Scott Brown has rejected an offer from Australian A-League side Western Melbourne to sign for them on a free transfer.
That is according to The Sun who report that the newly-formed side are prepared to offer him a revised and better contract to head down under for a spell when his current contract at Parkhead expires next summer.
Brown has been at Celtic more than a decade winning 8 Scottish Premier League titles, 4 Scottish Cups, and 5 League Cups during his time in Glasgow. He has been offered a one-year contract extension by the club, and there is also the potential that he might be offered a coaching role at some stage in the future.
However, the former Hibernian man midfielder does not want to become a bit-part player under Brendan Rogers, so may seek more concrete assurances from the club about his future before committing to the Hoops.
