Youri Tielemans may be pricing himself out of a summer move to Arsenal.
The Gunners have long been linked with the Leicester City midfielder, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, when his current contract ends.
However, although they have opened discussions with his representatives, he is reported to be asking for financial terms that would put him among the top earners at the Emirates.
With the Gunners not prepared to accept his demands they may now move on to other targets, as they look to strengthen their midfield options in the next transfer window.
There are also suggestions that Liverpool and Newcastle United are also interested in signing the 25 year old Belgian international.
Tielemans stock may not be as high as it was a year ago after a disappointing season for relegation threatened Leicester, who have just sacked their manager Brendan Rodgers.
