Chelsea are ready to enter the race to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is set to become one of the hottest properties when the transfer window opens again, with a host of top clubs interested in signing a player who could well fetch over £100 million.
They include Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool.
But having spent close to £600 million since taking over the club, the Todd Boehly consortium have no intention of applying the monetary brakes, and they intend to be part of the conversation when it comes to deciding the fate of the England international.
One factor that could count against the Stamford Bridge side will be their likely lack of Champions League football next season, at least based on current league form.
It is still possible they could get there by winning the trophy again, but the most immediate obstacle in their way to doing that is Dortmund, with Bellingham helping his side to a 1 – 0 win in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in Germany.
